We always love to visit here and explore around. There are a lot of things to see here in Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo located in Monroe,Louisiana. A good location for family to bond and have fun.
Admission fee is very affordable.

They have true zoo Lions, Tigers, and Bears. they also have Zebra, Bison, Elk, Baboons, Gibbons, Giraffe, Spider monkeys, and many other animals from around the world. they have large number of birds and a reptile house.
Louisiana Purchase Gardens & Zoo mission is to help people develop a sustainable relationship with nature. In so doing, the Zoo shall provide for the recreation and education of people, the conservation of wildlife, and the discovery of biological knowledge.

The cages was dirty with timber, Some parts was clean but this zoo need cleaning up. We have been to alot of zoo. The animals look well and they are beauiful. Broken limb on the side walk. We saw alot of worker walking around. There was a young woman on a bike she was working hard feeding and watering her animals. She was the only one we saw working. Maybe all could get the city to help clean up or get the community to help and get it in shape again.It is going to take awhile. Good Luck ,We was there 6/7/2012. Came along way to the zoo.
